FEROZEWALA - An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and his uncle allegedly fell prey to old enmity when their rivals attacked them on Lahore Road near Saim Nullah here Wednesday. ASI Sarfraz along with his uncle Asghar were coming to the DPO office on their bike coming to appear before an investigating officer when their rivals, who were allegedly chasing them, sprayed a volley of bullets at them, killing Sarfraz on the spot and injuring Asghar critically. Asghar was shifted to hospital where he died. Later, the attackers were identified as Hassan, Mohammad Ghafoor etc. The deceased were the resident of Makhi 460 near Farooqabad and had an old enmity with the accused who are also residing in the same locality. The Sadr Police have started investigation. In another incident, a man Allah Ditta was killed while three others sustained critical injuries in an exchange firing between two villagers Afzaal and Imdad in the limits of Sharaqpur Police. Separately, mentally retarded man Shahid Shah allegedly shot dead his wife Musarrat Bibi over a petty dispute. The deceased was mother of two minors. Separately, a patrolling team of the Sadr Police killed an outlaw in an encounter while two others managed to flee. Three outlaws opened firing on the patrolling team, which resorted to repulse the attack, killing one of them while two others escaped, said police, adding that the dead was identified as Akram alias Aku and these outlaws were involved in various heinous crimes. In Village Ghullan Wattwan, a 27-year-old man committed suicide after being annoyed with his elders over a domestic issue. Rehmat Ali was shifted to hospital after he swallowed poisonous pills where he died.
