7 injured in hand grenade attack

QUETTA - At least seven people were wounded in a hand grenade attack in Gwadar on Friday night while a dead body was recovered from Jaffarabad district.According to police sources, a group of people were standing at Shambay Ismail when unidentified armed men riding a motorbike lobbed a hand grenade at them. As a result the grenade exploded with a huge blast, wounding seven people who were rushed to nearby state-run hospital for treatment. The assailants escaped. Hospital sources said that the injured were out of danger.  Police say those who were injured in the grenade blast were waiting for a bus when they were attacked and added some of the injured were non-locals. Police rushed to the spot soon after the blast and cordoned off the area. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.In another incident, police recovered a youth’s dead body from Kot-Nazar area of Dera Allayar of Jaffarabad district. The body was moved to hospital for autopsy where he was identified as Ali Raza Bugti. Police handed over the body to heirs after completing legal formalities.
