ISLAMABAD Margallah Police Islamabad has arrested servant of a house who was allegedly involved in stealing valuables from the house in sector F-8/1 and recovered gold ornaments and other items worth Rs. 500,000 from him, a police spokesman said. According to details, unidentified persons took away gold ornaments, camera and other items from house of Anita Turab in sector F-8/1 on December 4, 2010 and a case was registered at Margallah police station. Following this incident, SP (Saddar) Dr Khuram Rasheed assigned the task to Station House Officer Margallah Police Station Muhammad Hussain Lasi to arrest the culprits involved in this crime. A special team under supervision of SHO Hussain Lasi including the Assistant Sub-Inspector Manzoor Ahmed and other police officials was constituted which arrested the culprit. It was later revealed that thief had been working as servant in the house and was identified as Intizar s/o Alamgir, resident of Lodhran. Police team also recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 500,000 from him and further investigation is underway from. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of the police team as well as SHO Hussain Lasi and announced cash prize and commendation certificates for them. Meanwhile Islamabad Police have arrested proclaimed offender who impersonated him as colonel of Pakistan Army, when intercepted by the Aabpara police and asked him to prove his identity near shrine of Darbar Sakhi Mehmood here in Islamabad. Mohammad Riza Qureshi was identified as resident of Lahore, presently residing in PHA flats in Sector G-11/4 of Islamabad. An FIR number 414 was logged against him under section 489-F of PPC in a disowned cheque case with police station Aabpara. Mohmmad Riaz had given cheque of Rs.0.95 million to his brother-in-laws who for not materialising the cheque registered case against him. Detectives remained after Mohamamd Riaz to arrest him but in every attempt they remained failed to arrest him. Finally the police fixed a spy to monitor his movement in the capital territory. On the information of informer the police stopped Mohamamd Riaz when he was on his way to Murree near Baba Sakhi Mehmood shrine in front of Aabpara market in Islamabad. When Mohammad Riaz was intercepted he impersonated as Colonel of Pakistan Army. However, the police was well informed and immediately arrested him. Police have taken into custody his car bearing registration number MS-424 and recovered one bottle of liquor and five cans of wine from his car. Police have registered another case against Mohammad Riaz under Impersonator Act applying section 4/140 of PPC.
