LAKKI MARWAT - Headmasters Association, Lakki Marwat chapter, held a meeting here at a local school on Sunday to discuss problems of the community.
President of Association Haji Pir Ghulam chaired the meeting. It took a stock of issues being confronted by the headmasters of state-run high schools. It also chalked out a strategy to accelerate efforts and strengthen liaison with higher quarters concerned of the government to resolve the problems faced by heads of high schools.
Among others, the office-bearers of the association including senior vice president Durmarjan, vice president Sanaullah, general secretary Abdul Manan, joint secretary Jamal Nasir, finance secretary Ameer Khan, and press secretary Mehver Din.
The association’s leaders said that headmasters of high schools had been ignored in the upgradation and promotion policy besides their other problems needed immediate attention of the higher government functionaries. They asked the government to accept the longstanding demand of headmasters of high schools by awarding them one step promotion.
“To escalate the post of headmaster from BPS-17 to BPS-18 is a genuine demand and it should be materialised without any delay”, they maintained. They also demanded of the government to separate the seniority of headmasters from subject specialists and resolve other problems of the community on priority basis.
LAKKI MARWAT: The Pakistan People’s Party district chapter has finalised preparations to strengthen the party at grassroots level and launch door to door campaign in the upcoming elections.
It was disclosed at a meeting held in Naurang town on Sunday with district president advocate Iqbal Hussain the chair. Other party leaders including Hazrat Ali, Izzat Khan, Qismatullah, Haji Isamgul, Abdul Rashid, Sakhi Marjan, Din Muhammad and Haji Muhammad Tarik Sikandari were also in the attendance.
The meeting discussed organisational matters of the party and assigned different tasks to tehsil and district level office bearers. It also condemned local Pesco authorities for resorting to unscheduled load shedding in the entire district especially in urban localities of Lakki and Naurang towns.
The meeting set a three day deadline and asked the authorities concerned to stop unfair power outages, otherwise PPP activists would block roads and held protest demonstrations.
Speaking at the meeting Iqbal Hussain said that organisational structure of the party would extend to union council level besides the workers had been directed to launch door-to-door campaign for the coming polls.
“Besides wavering party flags huge on houses and at busy public places the billboards carrying achievements of PPP led government will be installed in parts of the district”, he maintained.
He called upon the party activists to keep a close liaison with people and inform them about the masses’ well being initiatives of present government.
