AHMEDPUR EAST - Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhter and Secretary General Nazir Ahmed Janjua called on Bahawalpur National Awami Party Chief Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi at his Lahore residence and discussed with him the national politics, Bahawalpur restoration movement and possibilities of an electoral alliance between the JI and the BNAP within Bahawalpur division.
At the meeting that lasted for an hour, the leaders of both parties decided to hold more meetings in the days to come to finalise modalities for an election alliance.
NAWAB INVITED: The Nikkah ceremony of Shah Rukh Pervaiz, son of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and the daughter of Makhdoom Noor Muhammad Hashmi (late) will be held on January 15 in Islamabad. PML-N leader Qazi Adnan Farid handed over the invitation card of the wedding ceremonies to Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi.
Rs3.4m special grant: The Punjab government has provided a special grant of Rs3.4 million to the District Education Department for the uplift of government’s primary and elementary schools.
EDO (Education) Syed Tauoqeer Hussain told the newsmen here on Friday that every primary and elementary school will be granted Rs20,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively which will be spent through school management committees.
He added that all the funds will be utilised in current month.
