SIALKOT - On the special directions by Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, the Federal Investigation Agency arrested 14 suspected agents outside the regional passport office during a crackdown.
The agents included Iqbal alias Pehalwan, Haji Farman, Mushtaq and Iqbal Gujjar. FIA officials also removed the stalls of these agents from the office. The FIA team led by inspector Rana Shahid launched a crackdown on the agents in and around the regional passport office Sialkot and arrested accused besides recovering the passport making official documents and stamps from their possession. The FIA also arrested Naib Qasid Hassan alias Haji on corruption charges.
On March 9, 2013, taking serious notice of complaints by Sialkot businessmen regarding highhandedness of the agents and corrupt officials at regional passport office, the interior minister had ordered a crackdown.
