PESHAWAR - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has said that the role of labourers in the development of the country is of great importance and it is the foremost duty of the government to protect their rights and solve their problems. He also said that the present provincial government has taken revolutionary measures for the welfare of the labourers.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Labour Colony Mardan in Peshawar on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister said that the sole aim of his politics was to serve the downtrodden segment of the society; and he does not believe in the politics of mere slogans and premises rather he firmly believes in serving the poor masses.
The Chief Minister said that workers welfare board has approved funds amounting to 55 million rupees for various development schemes in the said colony including the installation of gas meters, boundary wall, street lightning, repair of quarters and other civil works, adding that practically work on the schemes will soon be started.
He said that the provincial boys and girls school of labour colony had already been upgraded.
On this occasion president ANP KP-23 Mardan, Shah Nawaz Khan, General Secretary Latif Khan, Secretary Housing department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akbar Khan, Secretary Workers Welfare Board, Tariq Awan and other concerned authorities were also present. The Chief Minister directed the concerned quarters to take a necessary steps to start work on the approved schemes of the labour colony and to ensure their timely completion. Members of the delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for taking special interest in solving the problems of the colony and ensured him all possible support.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also approved the transfer of 30 kanals state land situated at Moaza Pharala, Tehsil and District Haripur to the Information and Public Relation Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the construction of Media Colony for the journalists of Haripur Press Club.
Hoti lauds Germany’s
support for projects
Ambassador of Germany, Dr. Cyril Nunn, called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah, at the Governor’s House, Peshawar on Wednesday.
He remained with the Governor for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to the situation in the region. The contribution of the people and the government of the Federal Republic of Germany in socio-economic uplift of the people of the province as well as FATA also came under discussion and the Governor while referring to various ongoing projects in this respect also highlighted the importance of ongoing skill development programmes of the government in FATA.
Promotion of education and healthcare services in FATA, he added, are the top most priorities of the government alongside generating economic activities.
Responding to various points, the Governor also appreciated Germany for its generous support and cooperation in socio-economic well being of the people of the province as well as FATA.
Talking on various points he also highlighted the pace of progress on the reforms introduced by the government to strengthen the institutional arrangements in FATA and pointed out that the response of the people of FATA in wake of implementation on Political Parties Order is highly encouraging and its outcome will definitely be of great help in ensuring their more effective role and contribution in the national affairs in future.
