SIALKOT - Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) Convener Mohammad Rafi Sony expressed his concern over the severe electricity in the city which, he said, had annoyed the industrialists of Sialkot.
In a press statement issued here, he said that the energy shortage, deteriorated law and order situation, high international oil prices and rupee depreciation were major impediments for all kind of manufacturing, especially the Hosiery and Knitwear (Sports wears) industry of Sialkot which had resulted in sharp decline.
Rafi Sony said that the electricity loadshedding had adversely effecting and hindering the production activities as a result of which the business community was unable to accomplish the export orders within stipulated timeframe. He said that due to inordinate delay, the buyers were asking for air shipment of consignments which was not possible in view of the high cost of production due use of alternative energy resources.
