ELLAH ABAD- Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of Rural Health Centre Ellah Abad has been accused of soliciting bribe from a patient who came for labour to the centre.
As per detail, Fiaz Ahmad, son of Muhammad Yaqoob, a resident Sraiser Heither submitted a complaint to Chunian DDO (Health) against SMO Dr Javed Iqbal in which he alleged the SMO demanded money for treatment of his wife.
He said that he admitted his wife to the RHC who had to go through labour. First the doctor advised for ultra sound from private clinic, after two hours he demanded Rs8,000 for operation. He said that he requested to the SMO that he could not afford, upon which the doctor refused treatment of the patient.
He also blamed that no medicine was provided his wife from the centre.
Meanwhile, EDO Health deputed DDO-Health Chunian as inquiry officer to submit a report with in 7 days.
Similarly, Abdul Majeed, a resident of the city blamed that Dr Javed Iqbal had fixed Rs200 fee for the attestation of Haj form.
Meanwhile, bandits snatched a motorcycle, cash and cellphone from a farmer here the other day. As per detail, Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Mola Pur was coming to his village on a motorcycle when he reached near his village, at least 7 bandits intercepted him. They snatched motorcycle, Rs2,000 and a cellphone from him.
Snakebite takes life: A 40-year-old person died due to snakebite.
Shoukat Ali, a resident of the 112 1L, was working in the wheat field when suddenly the snake bit him on his leg. Resultantly, he fell down and the other people working with him shifted him to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital, where doctors treated him but as the poison had spread rapidly in his body, he died.
