Sialkot Ring Road in the offing

SIALKOT - The provincial government has approved a project of constructing a ring road around Sialkot to lessen traffic growing problems and work on the project will start soon, a PML-N central leader said. Addressing a meeting of party workers here, Khawaja Asif said, The provincial government has already started construction work of several development schemes in Sialkot district to make it a model district of Pakistan. He also revealed that the CM had provided a special grant for beautification of the city. The N-League leader said that other projects like the reconstruction and dualization of main Sialkot-Daska-Gujranwala Road, Sialkot-Eimanabad Road, reconstruction and dualization of bridges over Nullah Aik near Doburji Malhiyaan and Naikapura-Sialkot were underway. He added that the remodelling and alignment of Nullah Bhed was also underway at a cost of Rs 72 million for saving the Sialkot city from the flood. The nullah passes though all the congested residential, commercial and industrial areas of Sialkot Cantt and Sialkot city, he added. Asif observed that the Punjab govt had also provided six acres of land for the Govt Postgraduate College for Women Sialkot, where new blocks containing additional classrooms and playground would soon be established for catering the growing educational and extra-curricular activities. The provincial govt has also released a special grant of Rs 40 million for the repairing, renovation and reconstruction of ancient buildings of Govt Jamia High School Sialkot and Govt. Pilot High School, besides providing all the basic missing facilities there, he said.
