LAHORE – Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Saturday that he shared the concerns of PTI Chairman Imran Khan regarding the issues of extremism in the region and drone attacks.
Karzai, in a letter to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief, offered him to carry out joint efforts against the menace of extremism and terrorism.
According to sources, Khan is expected to respond to the letter by the Afghan president upon his return from Turkey.
Condemning the attack on MalalaYousafzai, Karzai said it was an attempt to doom “our future generations into darkness and ignorance”.
“This he attack has angered the entire world.”
The Afghan president said he had taken up the issues of extremism and drone strikes with the western countries, but the major responsibility to deal with these problems lied on the countries of the region, including Afghanistan and Pakistan.
