Over 1,000 parliamentarians have submitted details of their assets to Election Commission of Pakistan.
According to Election Commission report issued on Monday, the parliamentarians who have submitted their assets mounted to 1,099. Seventy lawmakers have not submitted details regarding their assets as yet.
The ECP had asked all elected parliamentarians, who had won the May 11 general elections, to disclose the details of their assets to the ECP before September 30 under the constitutional and legal requirements.
The ECP had also sent letters to parliamentarians as reminder to submit the details before the end of the deadline, warning them that otherwise their assembly membership could be suspended. But the deadline of submitting asset details has expired and seventy parliamentarians are yet to file their statements.
