ISLAMABAD- Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today said that hearts of the people cannot be won by invading the parliament.
Talking to journalists informally at his chamber today, the Speaker said they are democratic people and not afraid of marches by the opposition parties. He said the National Assembly will be held according to schedule on August 18.
He said he is not worried if recounting of votes is done in his constituency. He said had he been not an affected party, he would have played a role in the present political situation.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said people of his constituency are satisfied over his performance as he shares their happiness and sorrows. He said he attendedmore than 700 marriages in his constituency in one year.
To a question, he said if need arose, he would approach the Interior Ministry and other concerned institutions for enhancing security at the parliament house. He expressed his satisfaction at the security of the Red Zone.
In a lighter mood, he queried from the journalists if one lac bikers have reached Islamabad as announced by Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the Speaker arranged special lunch for the security officials deployed in the Red Zone on 14th August in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
Security personnel deployed at the Parliament House, Supreme Court, Diplomatic Enclave and at different posts in the Red Zone were served the lunch that included Biryani and sweet dish.
