ISLAMABAD : Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani Friday took suo moto notice of non-availability of machine readable passports in Pakistan Embassy, China. M Azam Khawaja, a resident of Najing, China, sent an application to the Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court. The applicant stated that about 7,500 overseas Pakistanis in China are facing hardships due to non-availability of MRPs. The applicant also alleged lack of interest of embassy in solving the issues of overseas applicants.
Taking cognisance of the application of overseas Pakistani the chief justice issued notice to attorney general for Pakistan, secretary ministry of foreign affairs and director general passport for 17th February, 2014.
