QUETTA - Six more senior government officials, including Dasht Assistant Commissioner and two Tehsildars were abducted on Friday in Gomazi area, Kech district.
The banned outfit Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility of the abduction.
Earlier on Thursday, Kech Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hameed Abro and Tump AC Muhammad Hussain who were heading towards Tump after holding a meeting with Iranian authorities on Pak-Iran border were kidnapped by some armed men. The armed men had also abducted Levies guards escorting the DC but they were later set free.
After the incident, Makran Division Commissioner Abdul Fateh Bangar formed a six-member team for holding talks with local elders in Tump for safe recovery of the abducted officials.
AC Dasht Naeem Gichki, Naib Tehsildar Balida Rafique Ahmed, Naib Tehsildar Dasht Ahmed Ali, Balochistan Levies Naib Rasaldar Basham, Levies Constable Jamil and tribal elder Dost Muhammad, who had left for Tump and recovery of missing officials, were intercepted and kidnapped by armed men at gunpoint.
A Levies official said that the incident took place some 100-km away from Turbat in Gomazi area of Tump, adding that following the incident heavy contingent of forces had moved to the area to for the recovery of missing government officials.
