QUETTA - A police van narrowly escaped a bomb attack in Chattar tehsil of Naseerabad district Saturday.
According to police, Chattar Station House Office Ghulam Haider Manjo along with five policemen was heading to Mir Hassan area when roadside-planted explosives went off at Shahpur area, shattering their van’s windowpanes. However, the cops remained unhurt, they added.
DSP Didar Magsi along other policemen rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. “It was a remote-controlled bomb blast and the police van was the prime target,” source in police said. No group claimed responsibility for the attack till filing of this report. Police have started a search for the culprits after registering a case.
