Pesco seizes illegally installed power transformer


LAKKI MARWAT - Pesco officials seized a transformer illegally installed in Gandi Khankhel area during a raid on Monday.
“The raid was carried out on the directives of executive engineer Jamalud Din after receiving information that some households in the locality were using electricity through illegally installed power transformer”, said line superintendent Misal Khan.
He said that Pesco team headed by SDO Fareed Khan along with police party of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station of Naurang Town seized the transformer and initiated legal action against power stealers. He said that the drive against electricity thieves and defaulters was in full swing in the entire district and it would be made result oriented.
“The menace of power theft will be eliminated besides all out efforts will be made to improve recoveries from defaulters”, he quoted Xen Jamalud Din as saying. He added that executive engineer Jamalud Din had called upon area elders to cooperate with Pesco teams to achieve the target of curbing power theft and improving recoveries.
Meanwhile, Tanzeem Lissail Wal Mehroom held a cheque distribution ceremony in district council hall at the district headquarters complex Tajazai on Monday.
Deputy Commission Nisar Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion. TLWM assistant manager health Muhammad Azizur Rehman, ESED focal person Akram Khan and representatives of teachers’ organisations were in the attendance.
DC Nisar distributed cheques worth Rs 157,8000 among orphan students of schools. He appreciated Tanzeem’s efforts it was making to help orphan students to continue their education.
“By receiving financial assistance from government the families of orphan students will not face any problems to get their children equipped with quality education”, he maintained.
He called upon the students to concentrate on their studies and enable themselves to meet future challenges in a better was besides taking the country to the climax of progress.
