Islamabad- Pakistan today congratulated the people of Afghanistan on the successful second round of Presidential elections.
The Foreign Office Spokesperson said the Afghan people, once again, demonstrated a firm resolves to determine their future through democratic means. The Afghan electoral institutions bear the crucial responsibility of ensuring successful completion of the next steps in the electoral process. The spokesperson said in fulfillment of its commitment to supporting the efforts for a peaceful election, Pakistan reinforced the security arrangements along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, including through additional deployment of troops, increased patrolling, and aerial surveillance.
Foreign Office extended best wishes to the Afghan people as they continue to move forward and take determined steps for peaceful democratic transition and greater stability in Afghanistan.
