LAHORE - Unidentified auto-lifters gunned down a man who started chasing them after he successfully foiled their attempt to steal his car here in Township area, police said on Tuesday. The police said that two fleeing auto-lifters gunned down the car owner when he tried to capture them after they failed to steal his car here in the limits of Township police. The deceased later identified as Faisal Butt, 40, a resident of A-Block Township, rushed outside his house when he heard the security alarm installed in his car that was parked in the street. Brother of deceased told the police that as Faisal saw two unidentified people on a motorcycle were trying to steal his car, he challenged them. The thieves tried to escape from the scene but the car owner started chasing them on the car. The motorcyclists opened fire on the car-owner as he reached near them and fled away from crime scene. Faisal sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. The police have registered a case of murder against unidentified auto-lifters on the complaint of deceaseds brother Khurram Sajjad. The police have also removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. In another incident, a 28-year-old security guard was shot dead over old enmity here in the jurisdiction of Gulshan Ravi police on early Tuesday. The police investigators said that the deceased later identified as Sarfraz, a resident of Bhalwal, has been working as a security guard in A-Block Gulshan Ravi for last few months. On the day of incident, he was on guard in the said locality when one Malik Asif appeared there and opened fire on him after a brief altercation. Local residents came out of their houses after hearing sound of the gunfire and found Sarfraz lying on the road with multiple bullet wounds. Sarfraz was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The killer managed to escape from the scene. The police investigators believed that the killer had personal grudge with the deceased over some minor issue. The police have registered a murder case against Malik Asif on the compliant of deceaseds brother Javed Imtiaz. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. In the third incident, a youth shot dead his 22-year-old sister in what appeared to be an honour-killing incident here in Lower Mall police vicinity. The police said that Irfan shot dead his sister Faika, as she had eloped with her first husband Majeed. After getting divorce from her first husband, the victims family had tied her knot with one Akram. After few weeks, Faika developed contacts with her first husband and eloped with him. Some days ago, her family members managed to convince her and took her back home. On the day of incident, Irfan exchanged harsh words with her, got infuriated and later pumped two bullets in her body at their residence. The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The killer managed escape from the scene. The police have registered the case against Irfan on the complaint of deceaseds mother Hussan Bano. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating while the killer is still at large.
