Position holder students reach Murree for trip

RAWALPINDI On the invitation of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, the second group comprising 27 position holder girl students in matriculation annual examination 2011 reached Punjab House Murree on a three-day study and recreational visit here on Wednesday. These educational boards included Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sargodha. On the occasion, a smart contingent of police presented guard of honour to the position holder students on their arrival in Punjab House Murree. The students would be accorded VVIP protocol as state guest during their three-day trip to Murree. The position holders would visit all important picnic points in Murree including Patriata, Bhurban besides having ride on Soft Wheel Train, Lift Chair and Cable Car. They would also be offered special lunch and dinner in Punjab House Murree and PC Bhurban besides having many recreational activities. Senior Officers of District and Tehsil Administration and police received the group of the position holders on their arrival in Murree. CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif after coming in to the power in year 2008 adopted the policy of encouraging and promoting talented students capturing positions in matric, FA, FSc. and BA, BSc examination of education boards and universities by awarding them medals, cash prizes in lacks of rupees and offering them recreational and study visits in the country and abroad. The group of above mentioned students is visiting Murree in light of this policy. The objective of this policy of the Punjab government was to appreciate position holder girl and boy students by recognizing their hard work and high achievement and make them aware that government considers educated youth an asset of the province and the country and it was taking every possible step to provide them resources for higher education. Under the same policy the government has established Punjab Education Endowment Fund for provision of scholarships to the talented students involving a huge amount of more than Rs 6 billion. On the occasion of guard of honour ceremony, the position holder girl students of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sargodha education boards expressing their sentiments and views, thanked the CM Punjab for offering them a recreational and study visit of Murree. and encouraging them by presenting guard of honour and protocol of State Guest. They added that this laudable gesture of CM Punjab has given them new spirit for acquiring knowledge and education and they would work more hard for excellent results and high achievements in their future academic career and earn high name for the country, their parents, teachers and themselves.
