MIRPUR (AJK) - In Azad Jammu & Kashmir, people observed on Thursday India's Independence Day as black day in protest against the illegal occupation of the large part of Jammu and Kashmir and registered their deep concern against the ruthless use of force against the innocent people of occupied Kashmir who have been struggling for their right to self-determination guaranteed by the United Nations and the India as well.
The Indian Independence Day was marked with protest rallies in all the small and major towns of the state.
Addressing the rallies speaker vehemently condemned the ongoing frequent unprovoked firing by the Indian troops on the LoC and working boundary by the Indian army targeting the civilian population and positions of the front-line Pakistani troops and recent storming by the Hindu fanatics upon Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi.
People from diverse segments of society including social, political and other public representative organisation attended the rallies held in the capital city of Muzaffarabad as well as all other nine district headquarters of Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Rawalakot, Bhimbher, Neelam valley, Hattiyan, Haveili, Sudhanoti and other small and major towns across AJK.
In Mirpur a protest rally was held to observe India's Independence day as black day, Speakers including Senior Vice Chairman National Events Organizing Committee Tariq Mahmood Chaudhry, Shakoor Mughal of All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference, Sohail Shujah Mujahid and Ch Muhammad Naeem Presidents of their respective factions Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran, Muhammad Nawaz Rattyal ex President AJK Cricket Association, Khalid Rattayal, Ayub Muslim of Jamaat-e-Islami, Zia Minhas of MDA Employees Organization and others said that India also adopted the aggressive approach through such mean tactics of the violation of the Line of Control whenever the international community exert pressure on New Delhi to settle Kashmir issue through meaningful talks with Pakistan.
