PESHAWAR - Leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) Friday warned the government of bringing the masses to streets against the incumbent ‘pro-US’ Pakistani rulers, if the Nato supply was restored.
The protestors, mostly comprising activists of different religio-political parties, led by the DPC central and provincial leaders held a protest rally against the expected restoration of Nato supply and the US drone attacks inside Pakistani territory.
DPC Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamaat-e-Islami KPK Ameer Prof Ibrahim Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S) KPK Ameer Maulana Yousaf Shah, JI KPK General Secretary Shabir Ahmad Khan, Atiq Chohan of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Zubair Anjum of JUI-Ideological group, Jamiat Ahl-Hades leader Maqsood Ahmad Salfi, tribal elder from Kurram agency Eidnazar Gul, and Maulana Abdul Hai Haqqani from North Waziristan agency, led the protestors.
The rally was started from Ashraf road internal city and after passing via Chowk Yadgar, Pepal Mandi and Qissa Khwani Bazaar reached Kabli Chowk, where it turned into a protest demonstration. The protestors holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans like the US drone strikes, expected restoration of Nato supply and against the incumbent government and its allies for failing to stop the foreign aggression. Waving their party flags in their hands, the infuriated protestors chanted full-throated slogans against President Zardari, Premier Gillani, ANP Chief Asfandyar and in favor of ‘Jihad’.
Addressing the protest gathering at Kabli chowk, DPC leaders categorically said that the ‘DPC movement’ is not a temporary movement, rather it will continue its struggle until the end of the US interference in this region. They strongly criticised the incumbent rulers for failing to follow the resolutions of the parliament, adding the US also did not give any weight-age to the resolutions jointly passed by Pakistani parliament. They alleged that President Zardari, Premier Gilani and ANP chief Asfandyar were playing a role of the US puppets in the country, and their hands are coloured with the blood of Pakhtuns, they added. The time is not far away when Zardari, Gilani and Asfandyar will be held accountable in the court of justice, they said.
The DPC Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq also came down hard on PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif for following questionable silence over the US drone attacks and killing of innocent tribesmen.
Later on, talking to media persons Maulana Sami said that DPC has no political motives, rather it has the only motive to get rid the motherland of the US domination. He asked the rulers to sense the gravity of situation and don’t try to restore, otherwise warned to bring the masses at streets against the rulers.
