LALAMUSA - Federal Minister of Overseas Pakistanis Ch Wajahat Hussain has said that the alliance with PPP was a difficult decision for PML-Q but despite having political differences, the party preferred national interest and joined hands with the PPP. He was addressing the PML-Q workers, well-wishers and notables, at a grand reception given by him at Zahoor Elahi palace here at Gujrat. Expressing his firm trust in the leadership pf President Asif Zardari, the Federal Minister that both parties have reached to unanimous decision regarding seat adjustment in future general elections, which however cannot be revealed at this moment, he said. The PML-Q stalwart was of the view that this alliance would save PPP, from political blackmail of MQM and the government will be run smoothly. Appreciating political approach of his elder brother Ch Shujaat Hussain also PML-Q head, Ch Wajahat claimed that it was PML-Qs political victory that a loser party in previous election, after alliance have 17 federal ministries whereas the PPP the largest party owns 21. The Federal Minister also divulged that as now the government enjoys thumping majority in the house, the issue of creation of new provinces would be solved amicably. When the PPP and PML-Q will contest the next general elections in alliance, the politics of PML-N will be ended, he hoped. He also claimed that many PML-Q forward block members have contacted again PML-Q, as these members have not been given ministries by PML-N as was promised. Moreover, the Punjab Governor has already declared that he would not administer oath to ministers taken from PML-Q forward block members, he concluded. compensation for blast victims: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while condemning Chak Kamal bomb blast has termed it a heinous and brutal act on part of anti-Pakistan elements and announced compensation of Rs0.5 million for the heirs of deceased and Rs100,000 for ach injured of the incident. Meanwhile, Regional Police Officer Gujranwala Ahmed Mubarak accompanied by DPO Gujrat Afzal Kauser visited the incident site. On the occasion, he told the mediamen that it was not a suicide blast rather some explosive material was planted under the seats, rear part of the bus which later exploded. He also stated that a search operation has been started to trace and arrest the accused. In this connection, it is learnt that local police has rounded up as many as 100 suspects and was investigating them. It may be recalled that late Saturday evening, a passenger bus No AJK-655 was on way to Kharian from Kotla Arab Ali Khan, when the ill-fated bus reached near Mouza Chak Kamal, a hamlet near Kharian Cantonment, a bomb planted under passengers seat, exploded with a big bang, killing seven passengers on the spot while a dozen received serious injuries. Soon after the incident the army and police, rescue 1122 reached the spot and carried out rescue operation.
