Two Hazaras gunned down in Quetta

QUETTA  - In yet another incident of targeted killings, unidentified armed men shot dead two persons belonging to the Hazara community and injured another near Joint Road in front of Passport Office Tuesday.
Police said two brothers, Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Qadir, were standing on the Barkat Ali Road adjacent to the Joint Road when some bike riders opened indiscriminate fire leaving both the two brothers dead, while passer-by Manzoor Ahmed was wounded. They were shifted to the Civil Hospital Quetta where the injured was stated to be in a stable condition.
Heavy contingent of forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Locals attributed the double murder with targeted killings, which often takes place in the provincial capital.
The killings of Hazara people, is now a routine matter in Quetta, where hundreds of them have fallen prey to the sectarian violence in recent years.
Terrorists have often targeted the community in armed attacks and bomb blasts, while a banned outfit has repeatedly claimed responsibility for the attacks.
