PESHAWAR - Condemning sexual assault on a five-year-old girl in Lahore, female members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly staged a protest rally in front of Peshawar Press Club and demanded of the government to bring responsible elements to justice.
The protest rally was led by PTI MPA Nargis and PML-N MPA Amina Sardar. Other members included Naseem Hayat, Ayesha Naeem and Nageena Bibi. Holding banners and placards the protester strongly condemned the assault on the minor girl and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Addressing on the occasion, the PTI MPA and activists of the other political parties said that human rights organisations must take notice of such brutal incidents. They said that there is no one to protect the rights of woman and children and those who are involved in such heinous crimes must be brought to book. They said that the government could not implement the laws which have been made for protecting woman rights. They demanded of the government to implement all the laws related to violation of woman rights and sexual harassment and take strict action against the criminals.
Meanwhile, FM Radio Compeers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also staged a protest demonstration against the Lahore incident. The demonstration was led by Muddasir Zaman, Ismail Khawaja and Arshad Khan.
Addressing on the occasion they said that that practical steps are needed to combat such crimes. They demanded open execution of the criminals involved in such crime.
