Our Staff Reporter MULTAN -Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar lashed out at PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday, saying he shattered two nation theory through his pro-India statement and badly hurt the sentiments of entire Muslim Ummah. If he is that fond of Indian culture, he should return to his ancestors lad Jati Umra, he added while talking to media here at JI office. He said that the contents of Mian Nawaz Sharifs statement were highly worrying for the entire nation. He (Sharif) says that Muslims and Hindus worship same God. It sounds as if he is ignorant of basic teachings of Islam, he maintained. He said that Nawaz Sharifs claim that Hindus and Muslims possessed same culture and language was no more than a hilarious statement. He also strongly criticized government, saying Gilani regime was the most unsuccessful government of Pakistans history. He said that the PPP got vote on the slogan of roti, kapra aur makan but deprived the nation of all the three commodities. He said that poverty, unemployment, lawlessness and drone attacks made the lives of masses miserable. He added that the statements regarding creating provinces on lingual basis further divided the society and pushed the country towards destruction. He asked the rulers to refrain from taking ill-advised steps for the sake of political gains and create administrative units in light of constitutional methods. He categorically declared that the JI would not support any province on lingual grounds. Referring to upcoming September 16 anti-US referendum, he said that the event would create public opinion on American intervention in internal affairs of Pakistan. He said that poling booths would be set up at all public places including markets, roads, bus and railway stations to seek public opinion on American intervention. He hoped that the referendum would prove a turning point in Pakistans history. Security reviewed for martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali: The district police have evolved a foolproof security plan in connection with upcoming Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Hazrat Ali (RA) on 21st of Ramazan. Security is on high alert in Multan. No saboteur will be allowed to sabotage peace, declared SSP (Operations) Malik Muhammad Yousuf during a meeting held to review security measures. Earlier, DCO Zahid Akhtar Zaman said that strict arrangements were made to thwart the vicious designs of terrorists. He directed all officials of district administration to fully cooperate with police in maintaining law and order. He directed all TMOs to immediately remove encroachments from the routes of mourning processions. He issued order for installation of power generators on the routes of processions to avoid power failures. He said that illuminated routes would help police ensure security of the mourners. He asked officials concerned to immediately repair all broken roads on the routes and ensure sewerage and sanitation arrangements. He directed health authorities and Rescue 1122 to establish first aid camps and deploy ambulances with the processions. He further asked the TMOs to maintain liaison with the organizers of the processions so that their complaints could be addressed immediately. He warned that no negligence in arrangements would be tolerated.
