Daska-Pasrur road waiting for authorities’ attention


DASKA - As many as 28km-long main Daska-Pasrur Road has become dilapidated as three to four-feet deep ditches appeared on it and waiting for the attention of local elected public representatives.
This is the only main road which facilitates more than 200,000 people of 200 villages of these tehsils. The commuters of Daska, Pasrur, Chawinda, Qila Kalarwala, Zafarwal and Narowal have been facing great difficulties, as no vehicle can pass through these ditches safely.
Daska Engineering and Industrial Association President Zahid Hussain Mughal, Markazi Anjuman Tajran President Sheikh Abid Hussain, former MPA Ch Maqbool Ahmed Gujar, form UC nazim Ch Maqsud Dogar and other notables strongly protested against bad condition of the road. Talking to the newsmen, they said that hundreds and thousands of people travel through this shabby road as this is the only main road which links Daska with Pasrur.
They pointed out that this road had been constructed 20-year ago, since then it had never been repaired or constructed. The travelling of minutes is covered in hours, the said adding that the dozens of the robbery incidents had also been occurred on this road.
The traders said that PML-N MNA Zahid Hamid, MNA Sahibzada Syed Murtaza Ameen and MPAs Ch Jamil Ashraf Baryar and Ch Yahiya Gul Nawaz had made several political promises regarding the early construction of this main road before the 2008 general elections, but after winning the polls, they did nothing. The people have urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Saeed Wahla and Sialkot DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to take serious notice of this situation and ensure the early construction of the road.
