Thanas to become Darul Aman, Darul Mohabbat soon

SHEIKHUPURA (Ali Abid) - Punjab Inspector General of Police Haji Habibur Rehman has said that all-out efforts will be made to provide security and relief to the public without any discrimination.
It is the first and foremost priority of the police to maintain law and order situation and no effort will be spared to fulfil this commitment.
While talking to the journalist in DPO office on Monday, he said in this connection the Punjab government had already released Rs350 million to convert 100 police stations into model one while the tracker system had been introduced in the department which was helpful monitor the movement of the police vehicle.
The IG asked the police officers that they should perform their duties impartially, honestly keeping in mind that they were the public servants. Haji Habibur Rehamn stressed that the police force should convert themselves into public-friendly and services-oriented force.
He directed the SHOs to lodge FIR after thorough investigation into the incident immediately, adding that the practice of registration of fake FIRs should be shun forthwith. He said strict action would be taken against the investigation officer who would be found guilty in false investigation. He emphasized that the officers should make all out efforts to change the traditional Thana and police culture. The IG warned his subordinates that nobody would be spared if found backing the drug pushers, gamblers, runners of den and other anti-social elements.
The IG disclosed that there were more than 300 police station in rental building out of 750 police station across Punjab and all the police station would be converted into Darul Aman and Darul Mohabat very soon with the cooperation of general public.  Later, he distributed commendation certificates and cash prizes among the honest police officers. DPO Dr Haider Ashraf and others were also present on the occasion.
Dejected woman attempts suicide: A young married woman of Gujranwala attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Jhang Branch canal near Chatha Dad. However, divers of Rescue 1122 brought her out of the canal in unconscious condition and removed her to DHQ Hospital, where she is struggling for life.
According to details, Shazia Bibi of Chatha Dad was married to a young man in Gujranwala but due to her strained relations with her poverty-redden husband and in-laws returned to her native village.
Today she allegedly decided to put an end to her life by jumping into the canal but luckily some pedestrians saw her jumping and they promptly informed Rescue 1122 which rushed to the spot and brought her out of the canal.
