Culprits to be brought to book: DIG

TARBELA GHAZI - Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Hazara range, visited the Neeloor Balla village and assured the Shehnaz Bibi, the victim of humiliation, of the provision of justice and early arrest of the persons involved. According to source, following the directions of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court and Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fayaz Ahmed Tofro, the DIG Hazara range Dr Muhammad Naeem reached Nelor Balla village where the other day a woman named Shehnaz Bibi was made naked and forced to have a round of the village. Chief Justice PHC Justice Afzal Khan had taken suo moto notice of the incident and directed the IGP KP to submit a comprehensive report to him. The DIG inspected the spot and collected information regarding the tragic incident. DPO Haripur Muhammad Ali Khan Gandapur, ASP Najeeb-ur-Rehman, SP Investigation Arif Khan, DSP headquarter Raja Saboor were also with the DIG. It was learnt that before the arrival of DIG, all the men of the village had disappeared from the village in order to avoid facing police except the father-in-law of the victim and another man Syed Sakhawat Shah, Iman of a local mosque. The Imam told the DIG that he was teaching the students in the mosque when someone told him that that few people were busy brutally beating a woman stripping her clothes. He said when he reached the spot he saw Suleman, Arslan, Imran and Manzoor, the sons of Muhammad Yaqoob, standing there with arm while the woman was crying. He said he and other people present at the occasion could not help her as the said men were armed. Bashir, the father-in-law of Shehnaz Bibi, told the DIG that the said persons were very influential that was why no one helped his daughter-in-law. DIG Dr Muhammad Naeem assured that the accused could not escape from the irony hands of the law and they would be arrested and brought to justice. He salo said that security would be provided to the victimised family. It is 18th century when culprits succeeded to escape after committing a crime. We are living in 21st century when media and police have the capability to point out a crime and bring the culprits to book, said the DIG. He assured the victim family that the culprits would be dealt with iron hands.
