Ideological Group wins PTI Punjab polls





LAHORE – Ideological Group candidates for president and general secretary won PTI Punjab intra-party polls on Saturday. They defeated Unity’s Ahsan Rasheed and Faraz Chaudhry in the run for president and general secretary respectively.
The polling for PTI Punjab polls held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal at 9:50am and concluded at 6:00pm. PTI leaders including Dr Arif Alvi, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, Aleem Khan, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Noor Khan Bhabha and Umer Sarfarz Cheema visited the venue where drumbeat and dance by supporters of candidates continued throughout the day. The ideological group was led by Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and the unity by Aleem Khan. According to party election commission, 242 out of 262 votes were cast. 
The ideological group after a controversial defeat in the intra-party polls for the provincial capital at the hands of unity group, won some of the betrayed leaders of the unity camp to grab the Punjab office. 
Some PTI leaders said tsunami change group, which is led by Saloni Bukhari, Ibrarul Haq and Waleed Iqbal, after failing to influence the Lahore polls, also supported the ideological group in the party polls for Punjab chapter.
