Azam sworn in as acting CJ of AJK

Our Staff reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - Justice Muhammad Azam Khan took oath of the office as Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu & Kashmir in a simple but impressive ceremony held in the Supreme Court building in Muzaffarabad on Monday, official sources said. President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Raja Zulqarnain Khan administered oath to Justice Muhammad Azam Khan as the acting Chief Justice of AJ&K, the AJK Supreme Court sources told The Nations AJK scribe AH Rao on Monday. AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, his cabinet colleagues, Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Ch Anwarul Haq, legislators, members of the superior and subordinate judiciary and senior officials of the AJK government attended the oath taking ceremony. Senior official of the AJK Law Department earlier read the official notification about the appointment of Justice Azam as the acting Chief Justice. Justice Azam was earlier performing as permanent Judge of the Supreme Court of AJK. He has replaced Justice Khawaja Shahaad Ahmed, who was retired on May 15 on superannuation.
