Special package demanded for Khyber Agency's IDPs


PESHAWAR - Expressing dissatisfaction over the compensation package for the rehabilitation of militancy-affected families of tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency, the affected people demanded of the government to give them a comprehensive compensation package as received by the people of Malakand division during military operation.
Speaking at a news conference here at press club on Monday, Bazaar Gul Afridi, President Khyber Union termed the recently announced government compensation package a joke with the IDPs of Khyber Agency.
He said the tribesmen were hit by the prolonged military operations in Khyber Agency especially in Bara. He said the houses, shops, other properties and businesses of tribesmen were completely destroyed during the security forces action. He said more than 10 million people were displaced from Bara and Tirah, adding a large number of students had been deprived of education during the excessive military operations in the agency.
