ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) central leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that they were striving to put the country on road to progress and prosperity and urged the people of the Federal Capital to join hands with the PML-N leadership in steering the country out of the prevailing crises.
Addressing a big public rally organised on Saturday in connection with the election campaign of party candidate from NA-48 by-polls, Ashraf Gujjar, here at Tarnol, Hamza said that they did not believe in hollow slogans and their past is witness to it that whenever PML-N came into power the country’s economic situation has improved.
Hamza announced that the issue of overhead bridge at Tarnol Railways crossing and provision of water for the locality would be resolved on priority basis and asked the people to return their candidate victorious because he knew the problems of the people of this constituency better than any other candidate in the arena.
The notables of the area and local party MNAs and MPAs from the twin cities attended the meeting and assured complete support to the PML-N candidate dispelling the impression of any rift within the party about the candidature of Ch. Ashraf Gujjar.
The local PML-N leader and notable of the area Ch. Wajid Ayub had organised the rally, which was largely attended by the notables of the area and general public.
Hamza Shahbaz said that the PML-N leadership was out to save the country and not doing party politics because over the past decade the rulers had just plundered the national wealth and plunged the country into huge problems and brought the country at the verge of economic collapse.
He also said that the PML-N was committed to take the bull by horns and would steer the country from the prevailing situation and added that their track record in Punjab was before everyone where PML-N Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had changed the lot of the poor by his efficient administration and better teamwork.
Coming down hard on PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he said that when the PML-N government had invited him to attend the APC to evolve a national counter-terrorism strategy, he instead of attending the important event had left for London.
In his remarks, Ashraf Gujjar said that after getting elected from the area he would focus on resolving the problems being faced by the residents of his constituency.
He said that the natives of the area had given great sacrifices for the establishment of Federal Capital by giving their ancestral land for the purpose so they were the main stakeholders on the resources of Islamabad.
He said that he would resolve the problems of both the natives and the settlers of the Federal Capital and questioned that how the PTI candidate, who is resident of Karachi, could even have understanding of the problems of the area what to speak of resolving the same.
He expressed his optimism that the dawn of August 22 would bring victory for him as people from all segments of life were supporting him and they would cast vote in his favour.
PML-N MNA from the area Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Malik Ibrar, host Ch. Wajid Ayub and other PML-N leaders also spoke on the occasion and assured their full support to Ch. Ashraf Gujjar in the upcoming by-polls.
