21,767 candidates appear in MBBS entry test

PESHAWAR - Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) Entrance Test 2014 organised by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar for admissions in Medical and Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was successfully held simultaneously at four different centers of the province on Sunday.
The entrance test was held at Islamia Collegiate School Ground and Cricket Ground of University of Peshawar opposite Khyber Medical College Peshawar, Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat and University Wensem College DI Khan.
The test was conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (ETEA) of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the logistics and administrative arrangements for the registration and conduction of the test were provided by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar.
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) Islamabad has made it mandatory the appearance in the Entrance Test for admission in Medical and Dental Institutions of both public and private sectors.
In this connection a total of 21,767 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, Azad Jammu &Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Baluchistan and Sindh appeared in the Entrance Test at four different centers.
The results of the test will be announced today on 18th August, and would be available on KMU website www.kmu.edu.pk as well as on ETEA website www.etea.edu.pk in addition the result would also be communicated to the entire applicants individually via SMS through specially prepared software by IT Section of KMU.
According to details at Peshawar Centre, a total of 12172 candidates appeared in the test with 4189 candidates at Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, some 3487candidates were appeared on Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat and 1919 candidates were appeared on University Wensem College DI Khan Centre. Altogether 12362 male candidates and 9405 female candidates appeared in all the above mentioned four centers.
The Vice Chancellor of KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah, who was present on the occasion while talking to the media and staff expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the holding the Entrance Test.
He said after experiencing test center at swat last year now establishment of a new center at D. I. Khan for the first time is not only provided an opportunity to the candidates as well as to their parents to participate in the testat their door step but it has also given a much more comfortable environment to the candidates.
He said the increasing number of candidates for appearing in the ETEA Test shown a great trust on the arrangements and transparent process of the test carried out jointly by KMU and ETEA.
He hoped that after introducing on line registration and establishment of new center at DI Khan the reforms process would be continue in the future as well and would establish more new test centers in the province. Beside others Secretary Health Dr Aftab Akbar Durrani, Secretary Higher Education Dept Farah Hamid and others were also present.
