Pakistan, Bahrain agree to boost cooperation in diverse sectors

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to enhance cooperation in different sectors to strengthen the existing bonds of friendship. The understanding came at delegation-level talks between the two countries in Islamabad today.    
King of Bahrain Shaikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa led the delegation of Bahrain while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif led the Pakistani delegation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bahrain have signed six agreements and Memorandums of Understanding for cooperation in different sectors. The two countries agreed for the establishment of joint ministerial commission, promotion and protection of investments and cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries. Food security, energy and aviation services were also discussed.
King of Bahrain Shaikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also witnessed the signing ceremony.
Earlier, the Bahraini king was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Federal Ministers, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and services chiefs were also present on the occasion.
A twenty-one gun salute was paid to the visiting dignitary. A smartly turned out contingent also presented guard of honor to the king. It is the first ever visit of the King of Bahrain to Pakistan in four decades.
