ISLAMABAD - Taking notice of the difficulties being faced by the girl students of Rawalpindi Medical College, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to immediately vacate the hostel buildings of the college. The Prime Minister has further directed to provide alternate accommodation to NAB in the offices vacated by the devolved ministry of social welfare and special education at Islamabad. The Prime Minister has also given directions to Secretary Cabinet for implementation of his orders on priority. It is pertinent to mention here that girl hostel building of Rawalpindi Medical College located at Rawal Road was taken over by the NAB officials back in year 2000 on the direction of then military dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf and since then they have been occupying the building. The management of the Rawalpindi Medical College had taken up the case with authorities concerned for getting the building vacated but all their efforts went down the drain and the girl students of the college had to live in the rented houses and bungalows in different localities in inadequate conditions for on fault on their part. The students and management of RMC had welcomed the move and hoped that the building would be vacated soon and handed over to them for the collective good of the students.
