GUJRANWALA
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala promoted its 10 officials here on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference, BISEG Chairman Dr Farhan Ebadat Yar Khan claimed that more employees from Grade 1 to 15 would also be promoted within a few days. He hoped that the promotions would help improve discipline and working of the officers. He said the board had conducted first Secondary School (annual) examination, 2013 wherein 212,632 and 191,699 candidates appeared for 9th/10th and composite examination respectively. During the inspection, he said, supervisory staff of 28 centres was removed due to negligence and irregularities. He said that 65 unfair means including 13 impersonation cases were detected and FIRs under rules were registered against them.
He pointed out that after assuming his office, he received complaints of various natures about different private affiliated institutions. "During the course of inspection of these institutions some irregularities like unavailability of practical equipment in laboratories and less than required number of books in libraries was observed. Difference in the entries of salaries in Salary Register and actual paid amount to teachers was also detected.
Unqualified teachers were teaching in some institutions. At some places where schools/colleges for boys and girls are in the same premises, they have single entrance and exit for both the genders which is against the ethics, traditions and relevant rules of the board," he said.
