KASUR - A brick kiln worker, frustrated by poverty, shot his wife and daughter dead and, later, committed suicide with the same pistol at village Jamber Kalan in the limits of Phoolnagar police station on Sunday.
Muhammad Hanif, a brick kiln worker, following a quarrel with his wife Salma, opened fire on her and his eight-year-old daughter Humaira, killing them instantly. Later, the accused shot himself with the same pistol and died on the spot. According to locals, quarrel of Hanif with his wife was a routine matter and Hanif was facing financial crisis.
In a separate incident, a man shot a drummer dead over a trifle during a wedding ceremony at village Babaywala, in the limits of Phoolnagar police station.
On the wedding of Irfan Dogar, an unidentified wedding guest shot a drummer dead over a minor dispute. The accused managed to escape after committing the murder.
Meanwhile, a speedy truck crushed an old man to death at Dina Nath Adda, in the limits of Phoolnagar police station. Muhammad Hanif, 60, was crossing the road near Adda Dina Nath, when a speedy truck crushed him to death.

Staff reporter add: Islamabad police on Sunday found a dead body of a Nigerian national from suburbs of the federal capital. Police after shifting the dead body to Pakistan institute of Medical Sciences started investigations.
Meanwhile on Sunday, two members of a family drowned as there car fell down into a seasonal stream. Rescue teams shifted the dead bodies to PIMS for post mortem.
TRIBAL ELDER SHOT DEAD
APP adds from Bajaur Agency: Unknown assailants on Sunday killed renowned tribal elder by indiscriminate firing at Damadola area of tehsil Mamoond, sources said.
According to details, Ajab Khan was on his way to home when unknown attackers sprayed bullets on him. He was rushed to hospital in a precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries. The attackers managed to escape from the scene.
