NOWSHERA- Member Taliban negotiating committee Professor Ibrahim said today that now both the government and Taliban should fix venue for direct talk as any further delay could result in dire consequences.
While talking to journalists, Professor Ibrahim said the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are not willing to hold talks with the government committee in North Waziristan. He said earlier Taliban had asked the government to choose any venue in South Waziristan which has no army presence so as both Taliban and government committees could have access for meeting independently and without fear. He said the government committee should move the dialogue process further without wasting any time.
Professor Ibrahim added that the Taliban wanted to hold talks outside of North Waziristan and the government committee should decide on a location soon. He said that today one hundred prisoners are in the custody of the government but ISPR repudiated the claim and has asked Taliban to provide evidences regarding non-combatants. While the Taliban said that they would soon provide evidences and lists of prisoners to the government.
According to Professor Ibrahim the dialogue process will not stop even if the Taliban’s proposals of army withdrawal from two districts of South Waziristan and the releases of non-combatant prisoners are not implemented. The Taliban negotiating committee member further said they wanted to meet with the leadership of the army to discuss the dialogue process.
