Fraud case against three Shahbaz cousins

LAHORE - A fraud case was registered against three cousins of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at Naseerabad police station here on Tuesday night, police sources said. The accused including Mian Muneer, Mian Muhammad Qasim and Mian Arshad, sons of Basheer Ahmad who is brother of late Mian Sharif, father of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Police sources revealed that a case (329/10) has been lodged against three accused on the statement of a Maj (Retd) Muhammad Arshad, resident of Askari Flats in Cantonment Area. According to police sources, the complainant maintained in the FIR, that the accused in a fraudulent way sold 12 canals of land by showing it as 32 canals located at Kacha Jail Road in Kot Lakhpat area police limits. Police sources said the complainant had paid Rs 26.5 million out of Rs 70.4 million to the accused for the said land. The complainant also got approval for developmental projects and other facilities including sewerage, water, gas and electricity but the accused promised the victim to give him registry form after they would get the rest of the money, a police source said. The complainant, however, maintained in FIR that when it was unearthed that the accused were the owners of only 12 canals land upon which he approached the police concerned. He alleged one of their accomplice namely Jamshed Aslam was issuing him life threats. Police have also arrested two accused Mian Muneer and Mian Arshad for investigation while the police was raiding the house of third accused to arrest him.
