Rescue sources said that six laborers climbed down a well in Jalah Jam area in the suburb of Vehari for cleansing but fell unconscious as the well was filled with poisonous gas. All of them died before the rescue personnel reached the site to pull them out and shift to hospital. Later the bodies of the deceased were recovered by the rescue personnel. Meanwhile, the dwellers of the area held a protest against the administration for delay in rescue activities. The enraged people attacked the Basic Health Unit (BHU( and the house of the doctor besides ransacking the BHU, setting ablaze the furniture and a vehicle.
