Five die of Congo virus in Zhob

QUETTA - Five people died of Congo virus during last few days in Zhob, officials in the Health Department said on Tuesday.
They said that Congo virus outbreak reported in Ganj Mahalla and Kharotabad area lying on the outskirts of Zhob where so far five persons have died of the disease during the treatment.
The Health Department teams have been continuing carrying out anti-Congo virus spray in different localities in Zhob, they said.
They said that the disease transmitted from cattle would be overcome as effective measures were being taken to stop the spread of the fatal Congo virus.
It is recalled here that a surgeon doctor had died of Congo virus during the treatment of a female patient at a private hospital in Quetta few years back when she was brought to the hospital for treatment and the virus was transmitted to the surgeon doctor during the operation.
