Shun politics of allegations: PM


KOT NAJIBULLAH (Haripur)  – Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Wednesday urged all the political parties to strengthen democracy by tackling the real issues and shun the politics of allegations.He was addressing a huge public gathering, attended by the workers and supporters of the PPP from adjoining areas that was also attended by a number of Federal, provincial Ministers and Parliamentarians.He said the era of fake voting and politics of “jhurlo” has come to an end.“This time there will be no manipulation and the voters will be able to exercise their free will,” he added. He said politics of allegations was not far reaching as it defied the basic rules of justice and service to the people. The Prime Minister said every one has a right to pursue their own mandate and the people have a right to vote for the leader of their choice, according to their free conscience and will.He announced that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the gathering at the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux on Dec 27. Prime Minister said that it was for the first time in the country’s history that a civilian government was to complete its five-year term.Raja Pervaiz said that country’s future was in democracy and PPP has rendered unending sacrifices to come this far. He said the outcome of this service to the nation will be evident on the election day, as the people will vote for those who served them selflessly. He said the PPP will continue to serve the poor and downtrodden of the country.The Prime Minister was critical of those who were busy in drawing room politics and were only keen to come on television talks shows, and had no idea about the real politics, the politics of the streets and roads. He said PPP is the only party in the country that can have a huge gathering even in the remotest parts of the country, with hundreds and thousands in attendance.“PPP was committed to serve the masses, the country and believes in reaching out to the downtrodden and bring about a revolution in their lives,” he added.He said the sole objective of the party was to serve the people of Pakistan and nothing else.He announced regularisation of all temporary workers of Telephone Industries of Haripur and Heavy Mechanical Complex, amidst applause and slogans by excited workers. He directed Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira and Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah to report progress to him at the earliest.He also directed the PEPCO Chief to discuss with Sardar Mushtaq the issues related to electricity problems being faced by the people of the area. He also directed restoration of services of those whose services have been terminated and the pensioners of TIP.The Prime Minister also inaugurated the upgradation of 43 km long Taxila-Khanpur-Haripur Road at a cost of Rs 40 million, water supply scheme of Rs 2.9 billion and a Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Women Park.Raja Pervaiz said he was proud to have risen from the ranks of an ordinary worker and said its asset were the workers of the PPP.Meanwhile, PML-N MNA Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan on Wednesday announced to join Pakistan Peoples Party.Sardar Mushtaq belonging to NA-19 of Haripur announced his decision at the public gathering. The Prime Minister welcomed Sardar Mushtaq and said, “you have joined our party and we always value our loyals”. He said the party from Khyber to Sindh stood with their new member.
