ISLAMABAD- Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed today said the President's visit to China and the upcoming visit of the Defence Minister of China to Pakistan would solidify the strategic partnership between the two 'all weather' friends and neighbors.
Talking to Chinese vice Minister for International Department of Central Committee Ai Ping at Pakistan-China Institute, he welcomed the exchange of high-level visits between Pakistan and China.
Senator Mushahid also emphasized the need to translate bilateral state-to-state relations into equally strong people-to-people relations.
Apprising Ping of the various activities and projects of PCI in augmenting people-to-people contact between Pakistan and China, the Chairman presented the PCI Annual Report 2013 and also highlighted the future projects of the think tank which included the recently launched online Chinese language course, a program through which students in public sector universities across Pakistan will avail a four-month course in learning Chinese via video conferencing facility.
He highlighted the significance of conducting a parliamentary security dialogue between Pakistan and China in the interest of protecting future projects; including Pak-China Economic Corridor and Central Asian Economic Belt.
"China strongly believes in extension of bilateral relations in all these areas," Ping expressed his views. He said "It is important to pass the relations from generation to generation to have long term, sustaining relations."
