Islamabad- A 7-member delegation of Swedish Parliamentarians, led by Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Mr. Per Westerberg met the Minister of State for Interior Balighur Rahman today. Parliamentary Secretary for Interior, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Secretary Interior, Shahid Khan and Sweden’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tomas Rosander were also present during the meeting. Matters relating to mutual interest, regional security came under discussion. Talking to the delegation, the Minister said that Pakistan gave great significance to its relations with Sweden. He thanked the Swedish government for supporting Pakistan on the GSP Plus status. Balighur Rahman said several Swedish companies like Ericsson, Tetra Pack and SAAB are household names in Pakistan. He said that other Swedish businesses might also benefit from the attractive investment opportunities offered by Pakistan. He added that Sweden had been a destination of choice for Pakistani students due to the high standards of Swedish universities.
