ECP asks MPs to submit asset details by 30th

OUR STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission has drawn the attention of the members of the Parliament and provincial assemblies to submit with the Election Commission by 30th September, 2011, yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their own, their spouse and dependents. This is a mandatory requirement under Section 42A of the Representation of People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975. Members of the Senate, National Assembly and provincial Assemblies of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtun-khwa and Balochistan are, therefore, required to submit to the Election Commission Secretariat yearly Statements of Assets and Liabilities of their own, their spouses and dependents by 30th September, 2011. The prescribed Forms are available, free of cost, from the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and offices of Provincial Election Commissioners in each province. Forms have already been sent to the Senate Secretariat, National Assembly Secretariat and secretaries of all the four provincial assemblies.
