PESHAWAR - Awami National Party, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Senator Afrasiab Khattak has said that peace in both Pakistan and Afghanistan is linked with mutual cooperation and close government level contacts with each others.
He said this in a meeting with Afghan Consular General Syed Ibarahim Khail and other officers of Afghan consulate here on Friday. Provincial General Secretary of Awami National Party Arbab Muhammad Tahir Khan Khalil, Provincial Minister for School and literacy Sardar Hussain Babak, ANP provincial Information Secretary Ghulam Mustafa and others were present on the occasion.
Afrasiab Khattak said that Awami National Party government want everlasting peace in this region through dialogue and negotiation saying that being the followers of Bacha Khan, ANP does not believe on violence and wants peaceful solution of the existing problems facing to both the country in the shape of terrorism.
Afrasiab Khattak also assured full support to afghan consulate officer regarding Afghan refugees and resolving of their problems on priority basis. He said that the people of Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have same culture and religion and wants good friendly relation with each others.
The Afghan consulate delegation on this occasion also stressed for professional exchange programs and visits of the teachers and student to each other countries, aimed to utilize each other experience for the welfare of their people.
Meanwhile, KPK, Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar on Friday said that the minorities of Fata deserved special attention, adding that they would get their due rights, equal to minorities of other areas.
“There rights will be protected and their all genuine problems will be resolved,” he said while talking to a 16-member delegation of minorities of Fata here at Governor’s House. The governor said that minorities were part of our country and society and there rights were fully protected wherever they lived and worked. He said that the government had a full realization of social and community based problems being faced by minorities in Fata and every effort would be made to offer them incentives and facilities like other people of Fata. He in this regard directed the relevant authorities in Fata secretariat to outline necessary recommendations in this regard.
“Minority people are living in Fata since long and deserve to be treated well and get the required facilities,” the governor said and assured the delegation that their demands would be considered at appropriate level. He further assured that necessary mechanism would be worked out to deal with the problem of admission of their children to educational institutions as well as employment opportunities for them.
Delegation members, led by Wilson Wazir President All Fata Social Welfare Minority Organization highlighted the problems and demands. They also appreciated the Governor’s efforts for peace and development in Fata. Secretary to Governor Abid Majid and Deputy Secretary Law and Order Fata Mohammad Basir were also present in the meeting.
