A convoy of security forces was ambushed with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Miraali area of North Waziristan Sunday, killing four security personnel and injuring four others.
Military officials said the roadside bomb exploded on Bannu-Miranshah road in North Waziristan tribal agency, bordering Afghanistan, where an army offensive is currently underway against militant groups local to Taliban and Al Qaida.
Exchange of fire continued between security forces and militants near the Khwaja Khar checkpost in Mir Ali district of North Waziristan region.
Moreover, security forces conducted a raid operation in Frontier Region (FR) Kohat of Darra Adamkhel and arrested three suspected militants.
Security sources said a huge quantity of arms was also recovered from the arrested suspects.
