Govt should take benefit of Taliban’s talks offer

PESHAWAR - Chief of his own faction Jamiat Ulama-i-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that he has no direct contact with Taliban, but the offer for dialogue is a positive step and the government should take advantage of it.He also discarded media reports of remaining unsuccessful his negotiations with Taliban in Qatar, as he had no agenda of holding dialogue with them during his recent visit.Maulana said this while talking to media persons here at the party provincial secretariat on Wednesday. Addressing a ceremony where a sitting MNA and FATA parliamentary leader Munir Orakzai announced joining JUI-F, Maulana Fazl said that JUI-F will soon organize a meeting of the central leadership of all political parties with the “Tribal Jirga” to go ahead amid the changing scenario. He further said that the elements behind the episodes of Quetta and Karachi law and order and those ‘blocking Islamabad’ want to delay elections in the country but the masses will foil all these conspiracies. “Only masses have the right to bring a new set-up through a new mandate. JUI has introduced politics based on arguments and respects the opinion of all other political parties and politicians,” he said.   The JUI-F chief also said that he does not blame anyone for the expected delay in elections but the elements behind the Quetta carnage and Karachi chaos want to delay the upcoming general elections in the country, but masses will not let them succeed in their conspiracy,” he added. About the recent bloodshed and target killing of Hazara community in Quetta, he said that the party’s provincial leadership has directed to contact the victimized Hazara community and extend their all support to expose the real faces of those who want to spoil peace and harmony in the country by spreading religious hatred and sectarian violence, he maintained. Fazlur Rahman said that presently the real problem which the masses confronting the deteriorated law and order situations, and peace is quite necessary for the existence of the State. He also said that people especially from KPK and Fata seek bigger role of JUI-F in the country after the general elections.Presently, the economic position of the country is quite alarming, he said adding the rulers instead of relying on foreign aids should take utilize the country’s own natural resources and should ensure employment opportunities in a respectable manner to masses. Similarly, he said assurance of basic facility of health and education were also rights of the masses on the state.   The JUI-F he said wants friendly relations with all the neighboring countries and don’t accept slavery of any influential country. We have difference of opinion with forces of the world but don’t have enmity with them, and the foreign policy of the Pakistan needs to review in context of the existing scenario, as the country could arose as a peaceful and respectable State in the world.
