Islamabad - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday allowed the people having expired Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) to cast their votes in the upcoming election.
The country is all set to hold its general election on May 11 and it will be the first democratic transition of power in the history of the country. The ECP has taken some revolutionary steps to attract the people towards casting their votes and to ensure free and fair election. The commission said that those people whose CNICs had been expired are also eligible to cast their votes.
Shahid Afridi, prominent cricketer who has a huge following, has also recorded a message for the ECP to boost the election campaign.
APP adds: The ECP reminded the eligible voters to submit postal ballot applications to the concerned Returning Officers by Thursday (April 25).
